This Privacy Policy describes how Runsense (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our AI‑powered running coach and related services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data‑protection laws including the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Information we collect

a) Data you provide directly

  • Name or display name (if provided)
  • Email address or account ID (if you sign up via Telegram, Garmin, or other linked accounts)
  • Preferences or responses you share in chat or onboarding forms

b) Data received from connected fitness platforms

When you connect a service such as Garmin Connect or Strava, we may receive workout and health‑related information, which can include:

  • Activity type (e.g. running, cycling)
  • Date, start and end time
  • Duration, distance, pace, cadence
  • Heart‑rate metrics
  • Calories burned
  • GPS route and elevation (if enabled in your account)

We never receive your Garmin or Strava login credentials.

c) Technical data

  • IP address and browser type
  • Device type and operating system
  • Log data for security and debugging

3. How we use your data

  • Generate personalised post‑workout feedback and performance summaries
  • Send messages or notifications through email and channels you have linked
  • Improve our algorithms and service reliability
  • Maintain the security and integrity of our systems
  • Comply with any legal obligations

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third parties.

4. Lawful basis for processing

Our processing is based on:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide features you request
  • Consent — when you connect third‑party data sources or enable messaging
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, improve, and secure our services
  • Legal obligation — where required by law

5. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. If you disconnect your Garmin or Strava account, we will stop receiving new data. You can request deletion of historical data at any time (see Section 9).

6. Data sharing and international transfers

Your data may be stored on secure servers provided by reputable hosting providers ocated in the UK, EU, or USA. Where data is transferred outside your region, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

We may share minimal data with trusted subprocessors strictly for service provision (e.g., database hosting, cloud storage). Each processor is bound by confidentiality and data‑protection terms.

7. Data security

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all communications
  • Encrypted database storage
  • Access restricted to authorised personnel
  • Regular backups and monitoring

No online service is completely risk‑free. You acknowledge that transmission of data over the internet carries inherent risks which we cannot fully eliminate.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR & UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent at any time for consent‑based processing

Send requests to privacy@runsense.io. We respond within 30 days.

9. Data deletion

You may delete your account or request data deletion by emailing privacy@runsense.io. Upon verification, all personal and workout data associated with your account will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

10. Children’s data

Our service is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us to delete it promptly.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The latest version will always be available at this page.
